Mustafi Celebrates heading in Arsenal's first goal against Cardif

Arsenal emerged 3-2 winners in Cardiff, thanks to goals from Mustafi, and the lethal partners Aubameyang and Lacazzette. This marked first away win under Unai Emery’s reign at the club.

Mustafi’s opened the scoring from Xhaka’s corner-kick and celebrated his goal with two arms crossed on his chest and flapping his fingers. This referred to the double headed eagle on Albania’s flag.

This was not the first time a player celebrated in such a manner. Xhaka and Shaqiri did a similar celebration during their world cup win over Serbia and both players who have Albanians roots were fined by FIFA. Mustafi is a German international who was born to Albanian parents.

Unlike Xhaka and Shaqiri, the FA will not launch a disciplinary proceeding against Mustafi’s conducts.
