Former state legal advisor professor Githu Muigai is among high profile individuals the jubilee leadership has appointed to chair state corporations. His appointment comes hardly a week since the swearing in to office of his predecessor justice kihara kariuki.
Prof Muigai, who served as state attorney general, is now appointed to chair the council for legal education according to a gazette notice dated Friday 6th. His resignation as AG was announced by President Kenyatta after serving in the previous tenure.
Other than the decorated lawyer, former cabinet secretary and Kilifi Gubernatorial candidate Kazungu Kambi, is also set to assume office as chair to the board of the Coast Development Authority.
Kambi, who lost to the incumbent Amason Kingi in the last election on Kaddu Asili ticket, was implicated in corruption and hounded out of office as member of the cabinet during president Kenyatta’s first term.
Githu and Kambi become the latest government appointees after a highly contested election.
